The story
Kamari is a modern coinage our records file as Swahili-influenced, part of the African-rooted register that Zuri's story described, and its record shows the steady adoption of a name that communities built rather than borrowed: about 640 in the 1990s, 4,400 in the 2000s, 6,500 in the 2010s, and already 6,700 so far this decade, past the full 2010s with years to run.
