Meaning
from a surname with more than one proposed origin; its meaning is uncertain
The story
Devin Booker joined Special Olympics athletes in a dribbling drill. The Phoenix Suns player had been involved with Special Olympics Arizona through clinics and friendships since joining the team. He also made room for other athletes at an event away from the court: he invited Jenna Warren to the NBA draft lottery, then Noah Smith the following year. The organization later named him a Global Ambassador. Its account connects his involvement with his relationship with his younger sister Mya, who has intellectual disabilities. Devin's older history is less definite: it comes from a surname, with both Irish and English origins proposed and no single settled meaning. In the dribbling drill, the professional player was part of the group, sharing a basketball exercise with the Special Olympics athletes on the court beside him.
