Of 194,275 residents carrying the name in 2022, 100,614 were born in the 1980s, more than half of the name's entire population from a single decade, with a median age of 35 to match. The trail behind it is long: Tatiana descends from the Roman family name Tatius, of unknown meaning and possibly Sabine, carried by a third-century saint especially venerated in Orthodox Christianity, which is how Russia came to love the name before Brazil did. Brazil then did what Brazil does, trading the final a for an e and making the name its own. The steeplechase runner Tatiane Raquel da Silva carries it on the track today.
