US birth records, 1890 to 2025
Truly unisex names
A name is only truly unisex when it goes to girls and boys in nearly equal numbers. 34 names reached at least 500 US babies in 2025 with neither girls nor boys above 65% of them. Parker leads: 2,536 girls and 3,477 boys in that one year, from US Social Security birth records.

How this list is made
A name is on this page when at least 500 US babies were given it in 2025 and girls were between 35% and 65% of them. Order: the most given first.
These are United States figures. The Social Security Administration publishes the names given to babies born in each year, and it holds back any name given to fewer than five babies of one sex in a year, so a name can be missing from a year without having gone unused.
The cut-offs on this page are ours, not the agency’s.
Only names that have a page here are listed, so every name on this page opens onto its full record.
